DR BRIAN WOOD

Dr Brian Wood established the dedicated cardiology service at Frankston Hospital in the early 90’s and has been instrumental in growing the Unit from an initial team of 2 Cardiologists to the current Department of 13 Cardiologists.  He oversaw the establishment of the Coronary Care Unit, Coronary Angiography suite and Cardiac Investigation Unit. 

As Director of Cardiology he established the Heart Failure Clinic and expanded the echo service, initially from one echo machine with 2 sonographers to now 5 echo machines and 5 sonographers. 

His leadership has moulded the Cardiology Department into the cohesive team of Cardiologists that now comprise the Department and his wisdom and decades of experience are frequently called upon, as he continues his uninterrupted commitment to Frankston Hospital.
